17 December 1913. During the war with Morocco, a Lohner ‘Flecha’ B-1 of the Spanish Aeronáutica Militar used a 1912 Carbonit bombsight purchased in Germany to conduct the first systematic bombing in history by dropping 10 kilogram bombs on the plain of Ben Karrix in Morocco.
16 December 1944. Beginning of the Ardennes Offensive (also known as the 'Battle of the Bulge' and the Von Rundstedt Offensive). To support the offensive, the Luftwaffe had assembled some 2,460 combat aircraft, including 1,770 single-engine fighters.
15 December 1939. First flight of the Kimura HK-1. Japanese glider prototype to investigate the possibilities of tailless aircraft. It was a single-seat design with an open cockpit, swept wings, and a single tail fin.
15 December 1924. Lt. Clyde V. Finter in a skyhook equipped Verville-Sperry M1 Messenger biplane successfully docked midair with Army Air Service TC3 dirigible 1,200 ft. over Scott Field. The first aeroplane to hook-on and release from another aircraft in flight.
14 December 1915. First Canadian aerial combat victory when Flight Sub Lieutenant Arthur Ince, a RFC Observer flying a Nieuport 10 with Flight Sub-Lieutenant Graham shot down a German seaplane off the coast of Belgium. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross.
13 December 1967. 14.08.00 UTC/GMT. Launch of Pioneer 8 from Cape Canaveral LC-17B. American satellite engaged in research and exploration of the upper atmosphere or outer space.
29 November 1917. First operational sorties were flown by the Royal Flying Corps from Milan Aerodrome Italy. Royal Aircraft Factory RE8s from 34 Squadron conducted photographic reconnaissance on the Montello front, escorted by the Sopwith Camels of 28 Squadron.

27 November 1916. The Kaiserliche Marine (Imperial German Navy) Zeppelin LZ 78 (L-34) R-class, was shot down by Second Lieutenant Ian Pyott in Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2c (2738). All 20 crewmen were killed when it crashed in Tees Bay, off Hartlepool.
