Remembering the late Frank Frazetta on his birthday. I could never afford to own any of his original art, but the few minutes I spent chatting with him at a con as a teen and getting his autograph was priceless.
Reading the kids book Real Pigeons Fight Crime by @andrewmcdonald and @benwood and laughed at an allusion I doubt any kid is ever going to get. Unless I'm way out of the loop and young readers these days are presumed to be more sophisticated and know who Robert Mapplethorpe was.
@doctorow This image from the Christmas 1914 issue of The Graphic shows how it was done back then. Tables and chairs inside a tomb at the Valley of the Kings. No roughing it for the upper crust!
Happy 93rd birthday to the incomparable Ramona Fradon, whose Aquaman and Metamorpho art I adored as a kid. That she a decade later in 1979 would draw one of my House of Mystery tales for DC still leaves me gobsmacked. What an honor! It was a highlight of my comics career.
Remember @Rob_Rogers, the editorial cartoonist I told you about who was being censored by @PittsburghPG's publisher for being critical of the current occupant of the White House? He's now been fired after working there for 23 years. So let's make sure his cartoons get seen, OK?
