why are so many furry cartoon pitches just normal mundane human stuff, but animal people? working minimum wage, playing videogames on the couch, having roommates? seems pretty boring!

this is the most popular category by far!

most of these #bettercartoon pitches r just completely generic kids cartoons premises that have been around for decades, about kids with MAGIC POWERS who GO ON ADVENTURES!!...but with racial & sexual minorities as the gimmick / hook

& most of them have the same 2 or 3 art styles

I think mine is "smug with eyelids half-closed"

(usually with "arms folded" or "arms akimbo")

@VinceEckert they're VERY well designed & animated, but to me those characters always look best with full construction & bulbous anatomy - what the modern show did was like a flat, angular parody of cuteness (which still looked great, don't get me wrong)
