On the overworld map, you'll notice that trap tower has three levels to it. With the "elevator" in Rev A and this new mention of three towers, I wonder if there is some sort of connection...

We've known about this "hanging Sonic" unused sprite in the Sonic CD special stage. It occurred to me: what if the UFOs acted like, well, UFO catchers? You know, the crane games Sega has made for decades now and which were particularly prominent in the 1990s...?
@Hiro_H10th I think it is! Notice the top of Mighty's right ear sticking above Sonic's second spine, clear of the first one. This is the older Sonic style, used on the loc. test title. Compare this to Mighty's ear on the final version.
I am still of the opinion that SegaSonic Bros had an influence on SegaSonic Arcade, at least very early in its development, before designing Ray and Mighty.

Took a quick look at Battle Garegga in preparation for the Loc Test dump. Found a dev flag that enables a stage select, in game pause/slow and a couple extra options to the test menu. Was this already known?
The SegaSonic arcade writeup has quickly become a "I can't stop finding unused stuff to write about" hell article. The english/Robotnik patches are basically complete, at least.
