had this thing on the back burner for months, so I figured I'd finally pull the trigger (*clears throat*)
I'm trans nonbinary. I'd appreciate it if y'all referred to me by she/they pronouns. thanks y'all!!~ ✨✨
@ItsJaneMahoney you can thank Oscar Dufau, who was the artistic genius behind the production design of these specials. he could go back and forth from these photo-realistic xeroxed layouts to the crisp and stylized lineless BGs of The White Seal or Mowgli's Brothers
I will forever defend Chuck Jones' 1970s TV specials 'till the cows come home
say what you want about the Looney Tunes stuff, but his literature adaptations showcase his personality in a way the WB cartoons couldn't, and his drive for experimentation and respectful adaptation.
@Mikey75902174 Favorite: Kiki's Delivery Service
Least Fav.: ...tbh I mostly forget about it if it's a movie I didn't like. so instead, let me mention a movie I got so bored with that I fell asleep
just rendered the final pass of a big animation project I've spent months on. I'll share it after I get seepy times
@AnimaSeriesCaps oh no, my friend. that ain't no error. you see, during the 1978 production season, they decided to reissue three theatrical shorts from '76 with new animation spliced in. these are different cartoons. for real. the rope slapping gag was an NBC edit to be safe for TV.
posts are gonna slow down this week due to technical issues
but good news is I got my second covid vaccine shot today. i know it's incredibly privileged to say this, but if you can please do get your vaccine shots!
@KomeDraws oh actually, he's not my TOP top favorite. Chuck Jones is! I'm a Jones die-hard, as should be painfully obvious lol.
But if I were to pick some great Davis shorts, I'd have to say Doggone Cats, What Makes Daffy Duck, Holiday for Drumsticks, and Two Gophers from Texas
