A few more because four is not enough to capture the whole range, really.
Little sneak preview of something I'm working on. Anyone know the species from just this closeup? ;)
@RebekahWSD Oh my gosh! Well that's flattering but no, I painted these a few years ago for one of Rachel Blakey's other publications.
It's #FemaleBirdDay! I've been consciously trying to include female birds in my art more often lately. Here are a few I've done in the last year or so!
Bonus content: I did a digital thumbnail of this painting ahead of time in order to lay out the color scheme. I didn't stick completely to it but it helped in the planning a lot!
Also have some bonus bees for #WorldBeeDay. I paint Vosnesensky's Bumble Bee a lot, since we find them often in our research!
Happy #WorldBeeDay! These are a few of the native California bumble bees I illustrated for a @InstBirdPop publication on plant selection by bees in montane meadows. Read it here! https://t.co/7DsZH334DI
Did the unicorn challenge for a few folks on another site. Trumpet horn, rabbit ears, Australian snubfin head, goat eyes, snake mane, platypus body, teacup hooves, rat tail, skunk color, and it has the magical ability to change genders.
Truly a majestic animal.
