Of course, after doing such cute stuff I'd have to get into another "serious" concept for the next work, to balance things out!

"Space is vast and empty beyond all earthly measure...The Moon is far when compared with where you might go in a jet airplane, but it sits at the tip of our noses compared with anything else in the universe."

"Light flickered on bits of ruby glass and on sensitive capillary hairs in the nylon-brushed nostrils of the creature that quivered gently, gently, it's eight legs spidered under it on rubber-padded paws."

"...a four-inch hollow steel needle plunged down from the proboscis of the Hound to inject massive jolts of morphine or procaine."
"The Hound half rose in its kennel and looked at him with green-blue neon light flickering in its suddenly activated eye-bulbs."

This was one of three covers I illustrated for Mike Resnick, who passed away in 2020 after a long battle with cancer.
The woman in my picture is choosing to contemplate survival, so I guess you could label this painting as a "Memento vivendi", if you want to put in a snooty art term label to describe it.
