Starting in the 6cyl class with a 2×4 ace bandaged to his body, Ron won races in the First State! He was a fan favorite because of his positive attitude and love for the 🇺🇸. Moved on to the modifieds in a car with hand control built by himself. Ron was a threat to win everywhere.

Upon returning home from the war injured he spent nearly 2 years in and out of the Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda, Md learning a new way of life. One thing the war did not take away from Ron was his desire and dream to race a stock car in his home state of Delaware.#Ronsdesire

and welded up. When he remembered where it was I had to cut the cap off and retrieve his dog book! 😂 On the way to the track he would practice "getting thru traffic" at a high rate of speed on Nebraska Ave. during rush hour. We would run "toll booths " not paying at 70 mph!

One morning he had his dog book and was picking his winner for the 2 o'clock race that day. We got called into breakfast and when finished he went back out to the shop. He could not find his book. Turns out he slid it into a frame rail to hide it. By mistake the rail got capped

Will Cagle is a friend of mine. Many times I would go to his home and shop in Tampa during the winter months a build his cars. Most fun I ever had. Will is a jokester and wildman all in one. He would pay me in "dog tickets" at times. Most days we would head out to the dog track!

Thanks for the memories Bobby!
these 2 haulers were before we received this ultimate Chevy custom rig. George Smith, Sr.loved his race cars an spared no expense to race them.
We had a racing budget back than. It was "unlimited".
If we needed it we got it.💰💰🏁 https://t.co/3ZKtEscoUr

Cagle always found a way to make money. He had a successful Speed Shop for years or would sell one of his cars for a profit and promoter's would pay him show money.. The legend car was no different. Cagle once made 35k 💰in a legends race that had a million dollar purse!

Cagle being the racer he was had a hard time sitting on the sidelines. So to fill the void he purchased a legends car and ran a few years in the Summer Shoot Out races in Charlotte in the Masters division. The same take no prisoners, aggressive driving style was still there! 🏁
