Tragically in 1988 Mickey and his wife Trudy were brutally gunned down and murdered in their driveway , while 2 suspects road away on bikes! Years later a former business partner that owed Mickey a large sum of money was charged. A rumored sum of money was paid for the hit! 🙏
Mickey Thompson owned cars ran the Indy 500 woth not much success. Unfortunately in 1964 rookie Dave MacDonald lost his life in the crash that also took the life of Eddie Sachs , driving a Thompson owned car! Mickey started SCORE offroad series and other promotions an businesses.

Chasin his Indy dream Tobias won all of big races in USAC and continued to win in modifieds as well. Toby also had 1 NASCAR start at Dover but in 1978 he yearned to return to USAC. 2 huge wins came quickly. But Tobias tragically lost his life in a crash at Flemington, June '78🙏

Toby Tobias was a legendary racer who had a burning desire to race in the Indy 500. He no doubt had the talent to make it! His driving career started in 1950 at the Hilltop Spdy in Pa, but was put on hold to serve in the Navy for 4 years !
In 1973 Malcolm quit racing so he could sent his son to college and raised his other 2 sons teaching them the business they eventually took over. Made a comeback after 10 years off in 1984 but cut back in '85 after a serious crash.
At age 66 in 2006 he died of lung cancer.🙏
Malcom Durham,s racing career was a success. This low keyed Hall of Fame racer was strickly business. He beat the best in racing and ran his highly successful speed shop "Durham Performance" building race engines in Maryland. Family was very important to Malcom.
Malcolm was a great driver and mechanical wizard. He received factory support from Chevrolet and the first to crack the 7&8 second pass and reached 200 mph Club in 1969! Malcolm was one of the best Funny Car match racers of all time and made $800 appearance money at each event.
