My Metroidvania of the year award goes to Souldiers. This is honestly a really great little game, fun mechanics and vibrant areas. There's this one area called the Great Pyramid, and it should be the Not So Great Pyramid because I was trapped there for 6 hours of gameplay.

24: favorite “classic” title

I’m going to interpret classic as anything pre ps2 so I’ll go with

Tomba, which is probably the reason I love sidecrolling metroidvania games now. Has good movement, a cute art style, and you rescue baby birds by keeping them in your stomach.
