Big fan of both you guys’ work and wandering into this convo late.

I’ve played with blurring…in my humble opinion it looks weird because it breaks the linework/brush strokes.

Depth of field can be done just as crearly via contrast and level of detail.

Not necessarily arousing but the way this image made me COMPLETELY rework the way two of my OCs flirt/work around each other because it exudes such a specific Energy(tm) and I got fixated on said energy for almost a month solid is definitely a big thing for me

Another way to play with focus without using a blur filter is the way Canete does with linework here. He fades/tapers off the details & lines into nothingness.

It serves to both push the reader’s focus into one area while including a distinct light source blowing out details.
