Still so many polys....how do you work? Do you try to contain everything in one mesh or do you retopo different parts you just stick together in the end?

I never learnt painting properly anyways I did a coloured and a grayscale. Mesh them together and tune the colours to high contrast. Trial and error till satisfied.

The outer part is a static mesh (scaled by the animation) with a panning noise. For the smoke particle, I'm passing data through the color parameter, so that i can link lifetime of the particle to erosion. They are both emissive.

Set a challenge for myself to make a character in at least a week. Based off a concept by . I just added some little mesh decals using Decalmachine. Few things to fix up but I'm happy with the result.

first attempt - I got the mesh to appear, but the texture was mapped incorrectly.

45 minutes speed sculpt of a dragon bust using dynatopo. Added a quick low poly cage mesh and used a simple mesh deform on the sculpt, added a quick 4 armature bone with auto weights and voila! A dragon bust that deforms rather very well, great for quick test poses! 😅🤫🤘

すごく回りくどく3Dテクスチャからメッシュへの変換。
多層板の発生源->Sim->VDB-> volume to mesh.
これを内部で閉じることができて、ほぼ放置状態のテクスチャノードが再建整備されれば面白そうだけどね…
(シェーダーノードがメインになったので、テクスチャノードはほとんど過去の遺産状態…)

Here's the WIP of Ashfur's head! I can reuse the body mesh I already created and just tweak it to change the silhouette to save me a bit of time. The eyes are just guidelines, they'll be changed ^^
