wha-- I completely missed out this CGI cutscene in Final Coil of Bahamut (T12) I am glad I ended up doing it and putting time aside to watch the cutscene properly!!!!

Actually, they had an entire series done in 3d. Ronja the Robber's Daughter was done in 3D CGI and it was an incredibly touching story full of all the elements that make Ghibli films so memorable and signature. The music was beautiful too.

I remember when Ex Machina won Best Visual Effects and people were upset because it didn't have as much CGI as The Force Awakens or The Martian. Every year I keep seeing people wanting to award the movie with the most CGI, instead of focusing on the quality rather than quantity.
