Sneak peek at some fully modular wooden vehicle I'm working on. It all should tile together. Can't wait for that 1.3 update on aseprite, got thousands more to do and it's a real PIA w/o a tilemap system 😭

I finished my tilemap packing tool!
it eats a painterfriendly export from aseprite, and spits out 1 map for each layer (background, foreground and middleground) that is highly compatible with 4-way autotiling:D (the blue bits r tilesets I haven't made yet hehe). saves lotsa time

This afternoon's muck about is in RPG Maker, we're so lucky to have programs like this available.
These sprite sheets would have taken me days to complete but using RPG Maker, it took about 10 mins.
I can import my own sprites/textures & tilemaps too.
Great way to mock up a game.

That's what I considered bc I was so fed up with trying to get the tilemap to work the way I wanted. You just have to cut up the image to handle sorting things like the rock spires. It even feels faster than creating tilesets, since I have gone through about 20 tile iterations.

It's been over a month since I last worked on the pixel art stuff, but I've finally continued it. Now with an updated running animation and 8 more smols.

So I'm in the very, very beginning steps of learning though I am still focusing on art. I'm using a Truchet tilemap generated with and applying it as a displacement map, creating this cityscape.
