"Kakukaku Shikajika" by Akiko Higashimura
An autobiographical manga that centers firmly on her formative years. A man she frequently thinks back on is a strange instructor who had a harsh and traditional mentality for art. She also reflects a lot on her own mistakes.
The plants are Black tulips for power and strength, Red amaryllis for determination, and Cactus/cactus flowers for endurance to survive in harsh environments.
