Blender's 2D tools are at this point pretty well refined...well beyond what VR apps like have. With Blender's ongoing implementation, it looks like an exciting year ahead. I recommend that those making art in the XR space start learning now :)

2D tools have been vital to pulling off the art style for the game. In addition to its default settings being great for recreating McCay's style, it lets us easily blend keyframed and puppet styles when needed.

If you want to know how we did the Walking Bed (concept and we created a 3D model in as an underlay and used it as a base, then traced over it with the new animation tools to make our sprites for the game.
