They really got the hang of it in G3+, the GB games had a lot of limitations, and GF was still getting used to making GAMES, let alone graphics. Anyway, here's an example of colored lines with a Ho-oh I was using as reference for making G4 themed sprites!

When I was first shown an N64 by a friend I thought the same thing.

I was also very confused and kinda scared when they also showed the intros of Banjo-Kazooie and DK 64 as I was more familiar with Gamecube and had no idea what was going on with the graphics.

With the IDL tamagotchis people were able to mod it with graphics.

The new tamagotchi "ON" has a few mods out already. Somebody mentioned before on how to do it but I forgot where. There was even a speedpaint but I forgot rip.
