Fun Fact: In 2014 researchers found an Edmontosaurus regalis in western Canada that has a cockscomb of mummified flesh, like what you'd see on a rooster. This is a structure nobody knew the dinosaur had. Art by Davide Bonadonna. 🤓🦖
From A World of Reptiles
Two genera from opposite branches of the Anoliform tree live as allies in a struggle against voracious predators. The dimunitive Dromaeosuchus detects predators and defends communal nesting grounds, while the giant Regalisuchus whips and mauls carnivores.
I saw a Poecilotheria regalis just chillin like a plush, so I drew this because why not?

#MesozoicMonday Edmontosaurus regalis meaning ”lizard from Edmonton” is a species of comb-crested hadrosaurid (duck-billed) dinosaur. The first Edmontosaurus regalis fossils were discovered in 1916 by George F. Sternberg, in the Horseshoe Canyon Formation along the Red Deer River

Edmontosaurus was part of a group of dinosaurs called the Hadrosaurs. One species, E. regalis, sported a fleshy “crest”! We have many well-preserved specimens of this charming dino, even possibly preserving their patterning!
Day 23: Draw someones’ pet dinosaur.
I thought I’d challenge myself a little and do something different, so I (badly) drew one of my real-life friends with a pet Edmontosaurus regalis, their favourite dinosaur.

#Opabinia is often depicted as cute. Because it is. It’s really cute. But even then, I still tried to make it scary this time. Opabinia regalis was one of two species of Opabinia that made the Burgess Shale its home. A great and famous Lobopod.

✨11/31 Edmontosaurus Regalis✨ Woooowie zowie it’s been a while eh? This piece has gone through so many revions for months now, but I’m finally putting it to rest. A bull stands with his children in a dry riverbed, his crest radiating red for onlooking members of the herd to see
