For a brushed metal effect (anisotropic shading), connect the geometry node's tangent output to the fresnel node's normal input. You can then run this through a color ramp for a cel shaded look.

Ok, I think I found a workaround to using the shader to RGB node in cycles. This is huge, cause it means I can use cycles effects (better shadows etc) for stuff. Follow me if you dont wanna miss the tutorial.

The Nodes (NN and SN)- Since I started doodling, I wanted to print the node glyphs in a paper and put googly eyes on it. There was also a comment I received of them looking like Clippy, which I got happy because probably in my head, the nodes are useful but annoying at times haha
