I think it's fair to make jokes about RTX on now.
From the looks of it, it does seem like the G5 movie uses actual raytracing in their renders, while Filly Funtasia doesn't seem to.

I've had friends tell me I should try using Cycles again, I haven't used it since Eevee released so I'm doing some comparisons between them
Just a heads up the renders used are made in Eevee for Eevee

this isnt an issue exactly with Marm 4 but I do think its frustrating how it feels like you need to decide if your gonna be using ray tracing or not when setting up your lighting cause it really doesn't always work for both, here's the mummy I did with and without raytracing on

@ReallyMilkkyWay @purchase_jack I understand what he's saying, I just don't think raytracing is the reason these weapons 'look better' in any way.
Studios release showcase renders all the time. Every Halo game has done it. For promotion, they're put into really nice studio lighting set-ups to amplify detail.
And it is done @Peter_shirley 's "#RayTracing in One Weekend" implemented on the #pico8.
I'll put the code up on the @lexaloffle BBS soon. So many things to improve. Working out a better colour palette and colour distance mapping for a start.
