I did the Experimentation over a few days back in 2017. It got really challenging to find new ways to draw and shade towards the end!

I start with making a rough sketch on how the flow should be and what shapes i want to have and fill it in with some grey kind of color, then i draw in shadows and consider reflective light. At that point it looks like the in picture below. The rest is refinement.
