Often (all the time) I put obstacles in my battle maps with no idea how people will overcome them. Tell me, how would your PC deal with the gap on this broken bridge?

Maps which show well-defined clan territories with clear boundaries are a Victorian invention. Scottish Gaelic society was far more flexible and sophisticated than a simple emphasis on kinship and strictly defined territories would suggest

I started GMing 3 years ago(!) & it's all captured in my podcast .

I love indie TTRPGs & most of the games I've run are one shots. I did finish my 1st ever campaign using which is a system I absolutely adore & it was a joy to create maps for our world.

The Map Department’s postcard collection takes me on a trip through Norway. It begins in Trondheim the capital of Norway in the Viking Age. From here I continue to Hammerfest before sailing from Cape Nordkinn, the northernmost point of mainland Europe.

I was doodling the look of some old school maps and ended up here. I do not know if this will end up in a video or not, but here you go.

our DM said his headcanon is that Archer is farsighted. so while he can shoot his bow just fine he needs glasses to read his maps and things, and I just couldn't get it out of my head.

I am in love with Archer wearing glasses so we are rolling with it!

The "Goblin Bigrock" is one of my favorite maps so far. Perhaps it is the perfect balance between isometric and top-down? I should play around with this perspective some more.

2010 vs 2020!!

i was ten years old and didn't know how to draw backgrounds so i literally just took one of the maps from maplestory and stuck it in the drawing 😅 but im glad that ten years later im putting more effort into creating backgrounds!

"The Man of Commerce" by A.F. McKay from 1889 is probably still one of the most horribly forced metaphorical maps. It pains me to look at the thing. High-res version in the link: https://t.co/C2fQHa4lRR

Absolutely, that's why I started art in the first place. Wanted to do a web comic but now I just run a DnD show to improve my art since I do all the visuals there save for maps. I've also got way too many OCs haha. Here's a few examples including some bits of said campaign

27 lost. Orienteering-bot is a little lost because there’s no maps for wherever he is right now. We’re all a little lost.
