Circle of the Moon is a very frustrating and notfun game that looked at Symphony and thought "okay, but how can we make it more like the classics?" When Classicvania challenge and Metroidvania exploration just don't mix well, at least not here.

I think that shantae is a great introduction to the genre for being a "light" version of what metroidvania is, they are very enjoyable games, of my favorite games, but shantae has sought to be more accessible, these types of comments create rivalries that do not have to exist https://t.co/66Z8yhH2xW

Phoenotopia, Legend of Mana Remaster, and Metroid Dread. List would be longer but it's been a rough year.

Phoenotopia was especially great since I didn't have a FT job and it was only $20 and was able to scratch that Metroidvania itch. It's my new favorite after long while.
