The barrels floating in the maps sea and the aquatic death blight stuff had me daydreaming about a nautical/pirate thing a bit back. Exploring scummy ports, abandoned ships and maybe the deep ocean could be cool. I sketched up some Ahab/MobyDick kinda guys at the time.

yesterday i discovered and lost my bonkers over the fact that krita lets you define your own custom dither patterns to use with gradient maps, and a similar method can be used to make a brush that basically does dither blending instead of alpha blending... how cool is that!!!!
