The decidueye I tried to phone yesterday turned out kind of disfigured, so I tried to mouse it instead.
Trying to export it to PNG with a vectorized texture made Inkscape get stuck, so had to use a bitmap texture.
Another week long practice project done. ~500 tris and a 1024 texture. Baked a base from high res using the DOTA2 texture guide as a starting point, then painted in Blender 2.8. Learned about the value of good UVs, and using a cage for baking. Turned out cooler than expected :o
Applying Texture.

Used @SoMuchMonsters #somuchdiffuse to finally give this set some real texture.
Another old project, still not finished but I've not given up on this one yet. A concept for a 3D model, the model is finished but still dealing with the texture.

the whale has a tri count of 328. i also tried giving it a pixel art texture. first try! i think i did alright.
I not only had quite the day at work, but I was also having trouble lining the design properly with this texture.
A college final piece. I had to work with a limited colour pallet and use a brush tool for texture. My task was to draw two monsters on a date.
@david_danger Thanks! I use a gradient texture and 2 uv maps. the first uv is just flat colors, uvs scaled to 0. The second is just a top down gradient, made using uv project usually. I then blend the two uvs in shader before sampling the texture. Hope that helps!
Lothric vs "Aldrich" model comparisons, used same body base for both huh? The former manages to be cuter even with his Silent Hill skin texture... 😗
(Note: Gwyndolin's hair here is fanmade, canon doesn't cover top of head since there's a helmet)
Sarah Morley will be showing with Peak District Artisans at their Winter Fair, Darley Dale, 3, 4 Nov. Sarah's art shows her passion for colour, energy, texture. She paints in an expressive style using oil paint applied with palette knives, big brushes & occasionally collage.
Day 766: Meat! Tonight's result was interesting to say the least. Working on meat was kinda difficult, it's such a unique texture. Still, I think it was definitely a good practice for me! I really enjoy analyzing and trying to break down and understand these different textures!
Prompt for today is Whale, and this is the Whale Fin Snake Plant! Couldn't resist adding some texture.
Snake plants are hardy house plants, known for air purifying. This one is also called Paddle Plant.

Ever noticed that European pears have gritty flesh? The cells of the pear have very thick, hardened walls, which cause the fruit to have a 'gritty' texture. These are known as 'stone cells'. Discover more in this weeks #Plants400 - https://t.co/wWYqA8oosW

Also I’m planning on doing inktober this year… Not sure if I will be able to do all the days but I’m looking forward to playing with different ink textures. For example this bat was made with an ink texture I made last year and a paper texture.
The white "appendages" of his body also don't have any texture. They look too clean. It doesn't seem to be bony, and the shapes don't help it to make the connection.
All of this makes the design look more like Mega Man, than it reminds a skeleton - as it should.
Another thing is that the white parts of his body are not "clean": they have little lines to represent a bony texture. It's something all of the reference designs have in common.
The tail of the Heroes' character even pushes this idea to its limit by looking completely skeletal.
