The 660cc Midget II - commonly a single-seater, although a two-seat version was available - was firmly aimed at the Japanese market, but the brochure pictures showed it with a California registration. The model, something of a cult vehicle, was available until 2001.

The 660cc Daihatsu Copen for the British market also had an unusual amount of accessories available for such a low-volume car. The brochure features the option of Minilite alloy wheels, various stripes, spoilers and side skirts, plus wood trim for the interior.
In the 21st century Subaru revived the name, unhyphenated, in the new R2, a 5-door 660cc kei car shown in Type S trim in this 2005 brochure. There was also a more distinctive 3-door, the R1. The pair would be the last of the uniquely Subaru-designed kei cars.
