Mangakas are also influenced by western authors and illustrators, its the same art form. Take Berserk for example, it's hard to not see golden/silver age visual influence, or even conceptual wise like in Moorcock writing

I'm basically done putting art on here as it gets even more buried now, but it's Michael Moorcock's birthday today so I can't resist.
Here's a couple of very old pieces: Me as Elric by & Bauhaus' Peter Murphy as Elric by me.

A big influence on The Crimson Tower was the works of Michael Moorcock. That heavy metal brooding fantasy was something we wanted to be very aparent in the mood.

💥Ends Today! 💥The campaign for Violet Dawn has only a few hours left. It draws inspiration from classic sword-and-sorcery writers such as Robert E. Howard, C.L. Moore, and Michael Moorcock, and the comic books of Moebius and P. Craig Russell.

Just finished a fresh concept work for my portfolio - a Mantis guard! Inspired by my encounters with many a mantis this summer on Skiathos, and by Hawkmoon series by the great Michael Moorcock!

Vlad just laying back and relaxing.

I'm back with some more art, not my best but I still like how this one turned out.

One of my favorite side characters in Moorcock's multiverse, Sepiriz/The Warrior in Jet and Gold. I like in Hawkmoon how he's just a largely silent knight that kicks ass while in Elric's Saga he is a powerful mage that gives a ton of exposition.

In 1962 Moorcock wrote The Sundered World's, his first novel published under his own name. It also introduced his lifelong fascination with the multiverse: a landscape of intersecting alternative realities.
