Since I just passed by Beta Ray Bill on my computer...
Inks and colors over this awesome Walt Simonson sketch

Despite how impractical her costume is, I do like Universea's look, it's a throwback to Princess of Mars era pin-ups with a mix of Kirby's Fourth World and Simonson's Thor. I think Walkers sketches evoke that intention better, but I'll grant that the green skin was a good move.

Less wench, more hench.

"More accurate and less sexist representations" translated into a hemorrhage. Very few of them contributed quality like a Louise Simonson, Ann Nocenti, or even early 2000's Gail Simone.

Women aren't all to blame, of course; guys were phoning it in, too.

Uncanny X-Men Annual 9. Simonson inks on the cover. The rest of the story started in the New Mutants special. Austin inks again. Amazing Storm design. A real career highlight. 4/x

He really gives off that Simonson vibe

The greatest and most influential version of MANHUNTER, created by the sorely missed Archie Goodwin and the always amazing This limited run of stories were a potent blast of fresh air at the time of their debut...enduring classics ever since.

[Uncanny X-Men May 1987] I know this is a Walt Simonson cover, but that really looks like a John Byrne face on Dazzler! [#cmro M6662]

Skuttlebutt, On Me!
Art for the
game

Not only was this fun to draw because it was fun to draw, Walt Simonson was one of my instructors at many many Odinsleeps ago. Swiped him as wee lad too!

Special Edition Without a doubt my one favorite parts of the work on this and the X-Men. An alchemically brilliant mixture of mutants and Walt Simonson’s Thor. Arthur Adams draws the fuck out of this.

Mignola is offered a Wolverine special. Agrees to it as long as Simonson writes it. An offbeat, fun story in the Savage Land. 12/x

Reading the Simonsons’ X-Factor. It’s been a chore story wise. Comics of a specific time and following the Claremont mould. But the art really sings at times. You can see the influence of Walt on all the image guys from here (in case you couldn’t before)

52. Hawkgirl # 50 a 56. La cabecera de Hawkman se convierte en Hawkgirl con el evento del Año después y Walter Simonson junto a Howard Chaykin toman las riendas de la serie estableciendo un tono muy interesante.

Even that Darkseid's a little too...human-looking for me.

I like the one w/a face that looks so much like stone that it looks as if it's placed ONTO the front of a helmet in a way that seems, literally, unreal -- which means Simonson and Kirby for me.

“Why does everybody always do whatever they WANT to? Why doesn’t anybody EVER think of ME?”

(X-Factor 29, Simonson/Wiacek/Scotese)
