dunno but in my opinion, Spear and Fang are actually safer in the more human side of the Primal world, mainly cuz idk, zombie sauropods, evil bats, giant red tyrants, a fucking night feeder and etc, where as they only have to deal with humans that have to use leverage at least.

Now our sauropod can sneeze lightning to zap predators or make same species rivals blow up in spectacular fashion by hitting their ventral cavity (cause of all the fermentation gas!). This is why sauropod fossils are so often scattered little bits. I just solved sauropods, see?

It works because modern humans have seen more elephants than sauropods, so elephant feet look right to them. But medieval people had seen more horses than elephants, so they were just like “yeah, like big horse-pigs with hooves, cool, I understand”

Congrats to our friend, on the publication of this new paper! Eagle-eyed readers of Cary’s book with , Sauropods, will have noticed the coughing Diplodocus. Check out the new open access paper for the full story! https://t.co/4CUPJ6AZQU

And it’s been suggested actually that dinosaurs originally lay softshell eggs instead of hardshell, which makes sense for how extremely rare they are overall in the fossil record & how the ones we do find are hardshelled (sauropods, oviraptorids, early avians, hadrosaurs, etc.)

"Dr. Grant, my dear Dr. Sattler. Welcome... to Jurassic"
"Jurassic Park, you mean?"
"No, just the Jurassic. We've got sauropods, a Stegosaurus and not much else."

Miragaia

A 6 meter long stegosaurid with the longest neck in the family, it had even more vertebrae than some sauropods, its known from 2 specimens

ALT: in its original reconstruction it was believed to have shoulder spikes, which later turned out to be part of the tail spikes

I finished a thing I was waiting too long to retouch in terms of details and is my recon of Barosaurus, one of the longest sauropods, is a sort of readjust of different things like scales, neck shape and a downscale to around 40 to 45 m, alongside Allosaurus fragilis and a human.

Pastel Paleotober Day 26: Amargasaurus 🦕

Amargasaurus was an early Cretaceous sauropod from Argentina. While not as long as some other sauropods, its neck sported extended vertebral spines which, unlike spinosaurus and dimetordon, are not thought to have supported a skin sail.

Dino Fact!

Yunnanosaurus (Yunnan Lizard) is a sauropodomorph from Early-Mid Jurassic China! It was one of the last "prosauropods" to ever live! It's believed to primarily be quadrupedal, but like other prosauropods, could also stand on two legs!

Dino Fact!

Eoraptor (Dawn Thief) is a eusaurischid from Late Triassic Argentina! It was among the first dinosaurs to ever live! Since it resembled both theropods and prosauropods, it was put in Eusaurischia, the group the other two diverged from!

Aardonyx

An intermediary genus between prosauropods and sauropods, its known from 2 juvenile relatively complete specimens

ALT: its arms made it capable of moving both bipedally and quadrupedally similar to hadrosaurs, showing how small bipedal animals evolved into sauropods

Saurobrum and Mbembrein, Rock/Psychic type fossil commissions I made for based on sauropods, mokele mbembe, wizards, and psychics, to learn more about this line check them out on Twitter or Instagram!

I mocked up this comp in Maya to get an idea of lighting, and Tim chose the colour warmth he liked. Cooler colours are emphasized in the plants, sky, and parts of the sauropods, while bright warm colouration marks each species as unique and highlights them against the cool

Baryonyx may have lived in a semiaquatic environment with shallow water, lagoons, and marshes. It also lived and coexisted with other theropods, ornithopods, and sauropods, as well as pterosaurs, crocodiles, turtles and fishes. Art by John Sibbick.
