165. Mōgyo
You've heard of a catfish, but have you ever seen a COWfish? These forbidden hybrids swim around in the Tree Zone's hollow trunk, where the sap is fluid enough for them to swim around in. Their instincts as cattle kick in whenever they charge at Mario's red outfit.
164. Ragumo
The bark of the Tree Zone is made of hard and sturdy wood, so the roots are incredibly tough to pierce and dig through. But the creatures living there, like these moles, have developed drills on their faces to make it easier. No material can stop them now!
🦋
163. Kyotonbo
This species of tall anthropomorphic dragonfly is endangered, and all known specimens live around the base of the Tree Zone. They travel by sporadically dashing and stopping through the air; the bottom set of wings is for hovering when stopped.
🦋
162. Spikey
These hedgehog hooligans inhabit the plains of Mario Land. The quills on their back aren't use used for defense, leaving them susceptible to stomps. Their main purpose is offense; when threatened, they curl up and roll around at the speed of… decently fast.
🦝
160. Pidgit Bill
Magic carpets are fun, but it can be a bit of a hassle for these tiny Subconscious birds to balance on them. So the next best thing for them is to launch directly out of a cannon! It may be more dangerous, but just look at how much fun they're having!
🦝
157. Fire P-Pakkun
This funky fire-breathing variant of Jumping Piranha Plants is native to the Special World. Wait, scratch that–one of them appears on Cookie Mountain too. Which means… it should've also been posted earlier. but at least this one didn't notice!
🦋
156. Sumo Bro.
"WHADDYA MEAN ya forgot to put me on the list?! Entry 138 shoulda been ME, not that freakin PUFFAFISH! Ya guys are doin' this in ORDER, right?! Ya KNOW I'm not at the end of the game!! DON'T let this happen again!!" *angry sumo stomp noises*
🦝
155. Koopa Clown Car
At first, Bowser's main method of transportation may not seem like a huge threat to be used in a final boss battle. But once this copter unleashes its arsenal of explosive Mechakoopas and giant iron balls, that wide smile becomes a lot more threatening.
🦝
154. Mechakoopa
Invented by Ludwig von Koopa, these goofy Bowser-inspired wind-up toys toddle around to patrol castles and airships. Bowser himself uses them as projectiles against Mario in Super Mario World's final battle. I guess that's one way to advertise your merch.
🦝
150. Mega Mole
This very large variant of the mischevious Monty Mole wears sunglasses (it's too cool to be defeated by just a jump or a fireball). These ones aren't as fast and clumsy as their smaller family, so they'd let you piggyback on them if you want.
