Chuck Jones still is one of the greatest artists who ever lived. Even his watercolors have his genius artistry in them.
If your still not happy with the remake of Lilo and Stitch being announced today, here's some concept art of the animated one to hopefully brighten your day.
It's fantastic how well Blue Sky made the Peanuts gang computer animated in The Peanuts Movie really work. Even the concept art shows that the characters work well in 3D forms.
I really hope one day Disney Animation does a full film that looks as beautiful as Paperman. The animation in the short is just gorgeous (and it's story and music were both beautiful as well) and it would really look outstanding on the big screen and stand out from other films.
I'm so glad that Pixar made their own version of Toy Story 3 instead of Disney's own Circle 7 Animation Studios. Not because Disney making it without Pixar was wrong, but also because some of the ideas seen from the concept art like the toys going to Thailand seemed too silly.
We all know that in Ralph Breaks the Internet, Vanellope is going to meet up with the Disney Princesses, but that's not the first time Disney Animation was planning that big a crossover. They tried to do this with a Princess Academy short and it would've been even bigger.
One reason why I feel the animated Disney classics are superior to their remakes is simply for how menacing the villains look. Even though I'll give credit to the actors and CG artists who worked on them, I feel they don't bring the same menace that animators do with a pencil.
Disney films really have great symbolism in them. In Cinderella, notice how the the shadows of the window panes reflect onto her which look simluate prison bars showing how our protagonist is trapped in her own house. Sam Mendes later did this with a computer in American Beauty.
