#NowWatching Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett’s SCREAM (2022). This franchise means more to me than any other. Wes Craven & Kevin Williamson changed my life back in 1996 so this new one was always going to be an opening day watch! Can’t wait to get bloody!!! #Scream #horror

If you give this 1 or 2 stars I completely get it but for all its faults it still made me happy for a couple of hours. I really just wish they hadn’t blown their load on one film when it clearly could have been two & would have been better for it! Play the games though. They rock

That’s two for two with Masumura and me! I watched both of these on @ARROW_Player but I am 100% going to buy them both & add them to the collection because they’re incredible. Remarkable in tone, style, set design & in leading lady. I’m continuing down this road with Masumura 🤓

There are elements of Stephen King’s MISERY as well as Alfred Hitchcock’s PSYCHO but really this goes somewhere entirely different towards its conclusion. This was my first Yasuzô Masumura film but it definitely won’t be my last! His entire filmography looks just as subversive 🥰

#NowWatching Takashi Miike’s BLUES HARP. This is a first time watch for me but according to @letterboxd it is my 36th Miike joint! This was one of the many lower key character driven yakuza films he made during his BLACK SOCIETY TRILOGY era & I’ve wanted to see it for ages #japan
