I see a lot of people giving this an incredibly high score and listing it as their favourite Johnnie To film. I didn’t have quite that strong a reaction to it but I still enjoyed every lovely minute I spent with it. I will 💯 revisit this down the line when I need cheering up ☺️

Absolutely amazing! Might just be my favourite so far this month! It’s so weird & obtuse but also incredibly entertaining & engaging! I was lost a few times thanks to the complete lack of hand holding but always found my way back. This is clever, creative & crazy genre filmmaking

#NowWatching Hayao Miyazaki’s MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO with my daughter. Out of all of Miyazaki’s masterpieces, of which there are 6 in my personal opinion, this one is my absolute favourite! The most perfect account of childhood, friendship & fatherhood I have ever seen #japan #anime

I definitely need to check out the SCREAM, QUEEN! MY NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET documentary because there’s almost certainly more to this story than I think we know, and Mark Patton was so good in the lead role as Jessie that I’d just love to hear more about his experience with it!

Well that certainly was a wild ride! It was obtuse and gonzo and crazy. Weirdly enough it reminded me of a few of Takashi Miike works rather than any other Sion Sono picture. It was like SUKIYAKI WESTERN DJANGO mixed with IZO and YAKUZA APOCALYPSE. All of which are fucking nuts!

It has come to my attention that some of the films in Takashi Miike’s filmography that I’m still yet to see are actually some of his best! If anybody knows where I can get my hands on a copy of any of these bad boys I will gladly bake you a cake! #FilmTwitter #Japan #TakashiMiike

EVANGELION: 3.33 YOU CAN (NOT) REDO has gotten so much darker & bleaker than I was expecting. I was a bit confused as to what the hell was going on at first but I think I’ve got my head around it now. Only one thing left to do now & that is finish this story for good #Evangelion

EVANGELION: 2.22 YOU CAN (NOT) ADVANCE - Now this is more like it! A brand new badass character, an absolutely savage Eva vs. Eva face off and a completely bonkers and unexpected ending that left me 🤯 If this is the standard for the rest then I’m going to be a very happy boy!
