Happy 76th birthday, Santos "Steve" Gan, whose comic book output was not prodigious but it certainly was distinguished. He co-created STARLORD with Steve Englehart, and his time on SKULL with Marv Wolfman was a dinosaur-laden treat. Also did fine Warren work. He retired in 2002.
In 1975 Wally Wood wrote and drew an alphabet for DC's magazine of weird humor, PLOP! Unfortunately the comic was canceled before he finished the project (missing the last five letters), but here it is - a letter a day - starting with "A." #WallyWoodAlphabet
A very happy 75th birthday to @marvwolfman, a giant among comic writers. His CRISIS storyline and NEW TEEN TITANS run are the stuff of history, his many creations like Blade & Nova live on, but his TOMB OF DRACULA run remains - 50 years later - everything a comic can & should be.
"I tried to bring the reader along on a trip. To give him a dizzying feeling about the work. If there was any weird stuff going on, I'd slant the panels and throw the reader off-balance. I used that ploy in just about everything I ever did." - Gene Colan
