Spanish artist Jaime Brocal Remohí was born OTD in 1936. He was one of the illustrators Jim Warren employed to revitalize his horror magazines in the early 70s, and his "The Mummy Walks" series with Steve Skeates in EERIE was a hit with readers. He died in 2002.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #100 went on sale 50 years ago today, Stan Lee's farewell to the series. He left new scribe Roy Thomas with one of the most famous cliffhangers ever. Roy was not thrilled; he & Gil Kane were more excited about introducing Morbius, so the arms were dropped ASAP.

6/6/72: How's that for using a logo creatively? Kudos to Nick Cardy for hiding the horror behind THE WITCHING HOUR #22 at the new low price, but demerits to editor Boltinoff. Of three stories therein, two are without writing credits, and the one remaining is a Boltinoff alias!
