My Favourite Games of 1988 No. 8
Ikari Warriors
John Twiddy (The Last Ninja) did a superb job of converting Ikari Warriors to the C64. Ram packed with frantic action, this run & gun game is rock hard but extremely playable & very enjoyable, especially in two-player co-op mode.
My Fave Games of 1988 No.10
Barbarian 2
Barbarian 2 gives you more. More gore, more baddies, more locations & more boxart that your mum wouldn’t approve of. An excellent hack & slash / arcade adventure with brilliant graphics, nice comic touches & totally enthralling gameplay.

Cybernoid 1 & 2
I couldn’t separate these superb shooters, so I’ve put them together on my list. Highly polished with excellent graphics, stunning music & hard-as-nails flick screen arcade action, they’re two of the C64’s very best blasters.
My Favourite Games of 1988 – No.13
Alien Syndrome
Aliens meets Gauntlet with a bit of Ikari Warriors thrown in - what's not to like? A combination of exploration & frantic blasting action with some great & gruesome graphics, this is brilliant - esp. in 2-player co-op mode.
My Favourite Games of 1988 – No.16
Hawkeye
A very polished platform/shooter hybrid, Hawkeye is another high-end Thalamus release. Excellent graphics, a brilliant Jeroen Tel soundtrack, stacks of action, and immediately playable gameplay make this a hugely engrossing experience.

Salamander
A cracking conversion of the Konami arcade original, with stunning graphics (Bob Stevenson again), fast, frantic & totally gripping action, and gameplay that's instantly addictive and varied enough to keep you coming back for more.

Zybex
An excellent Side Arms derivative, Zybex is a brilliant budget blaster. Great graphics, superb simultaneous 2 player action, cool power-ups & 16 addictive & challenging levels make this outstanding VFM at £2.99. A superb shoot 'em up.
My Favourite Games of 1988 – No.20
I.O.
I.O. feels and looks fantastic. Bob Stevenson’s backgrounds and the amazing end of level baddies are incredible – some of the C64’s greatest ever visuals. Gameplay is nothing new, but it’s addictive, rewarding and extremely challenging.
My Favourite Games of 1987 - No. 10
4th and Inches
87 was an excellent year for Gridiron games with Super Sunday & GFL Football but my personal fave was 4th and Inches. A fantastic mix of strategy and arcade gameplay, it's brilliant fun either against the computer or a friend.
My Favourite Games of 1987 - No. 11
Nebulus
The first time I saw Nebulus's rotating tower was a real WOW moment. Technically stunning, graphically gorgeous, ultra addictive and highly original, Nebulus is bloody hard, but it's an outstanding game.
