1996 Artwork Translations:
All 13 Itoh artwork pieces from the 1996 Pokedex book are now available in high-resolution, translated into English by Nob Ogasawara. Now that the video series is complete, I'm moving this page off Patreon to my public website: https://t.co/Dbp0OqaPA4
Some folks asked if we're gonna release scans of the full book. Each page takes ~40 minutes to clean up, so for pages that are just the standard art set and JP text -- only some. But all the unique artwork in the book will (or have been already) scanned, cleaned up, and shared.
New Video:
You might've heard the basic concept before that the 3rd Pokemon movie was originally about a Tyrannosaurus. It's covered here in full detail, in a video that's just as much about its troubled writer Takeshi Shudo as it is the lost film itself: https://t.co/1X4XUAJ0KY
Beta Pichu:
Pichu's design changed a little, just a few months before Gold & Silver's release. Pichu was kind of a blog that wasn't squeezed tight its collar yet, and the ears were different.

@reggie_800 Of all the third parties that Zelda's been outsourced too -- Philips, Capcom, Koei Tecmo, BYG -- I think Retro could've been the best of the bunch. I would have loved to see them do a Sheikah spin-off on Wii. Oh well =/
Beta Dunsparce:
Dunsparce is based on a snake-like creature from Japanese folklore called the Tsuchinoko. But early in Gen 2's development, its beta design resembled the Tsuchinoko much more closely.

Beta Totodile:
During Gold & Silver's development, an early Totodile design featured some small but noticeably differences, most notably a belly pattern that was more similar to Feraligatr's.

Beta Wooper:
In Gold & Silver's 1999 demo, Wooper's original design was... pretty different. Gold & Silver launched just three months later, at which point Wooper was completely redesigned.
