Also there is this one vague plot point you WON'T get unless you read the recap pages to figure out that eventually the ghost girl fuses with Jenifer. Because the ghost girl is given such little character when it comes it comes out of nowhere.
The comics also crossover with each other so basically it's you need to be reading all of them, for one in the Botherhood series you have to eventually read the wagon to see how James deal with a drug addict turns into a human torch who feels pain
Eventually we find out early on the purpose of the ghost kind of, you see SHE IS ACTUALLY FROM THE FUTURE AND SHE IS HERE TO PREVENT 9/11-2 THE SEQUEL YOU DIDN'T KNOW WAS COMING THIS IT'S THE STATUE OF LIBERTY!
But let's understand some characters Frank Wife is like YOUR NOT HEROIC ENOUGH...so she's going to have an affair with his brother. God this comic. Remember NTR is going to be a recurring plot point.
Series like these kind of need to know when to actually get the big guns, one of the reasons Gotham Central works is because regular cops you can see on tv, but in comics well now you get the story of the cop who has to deal with the joker.
Later Jenifer and a cop who is the STAR OF THE OTHER SERIES THE PRECINCT Frank I forget his last name but he's Called Gunz see the ghost girl as well. Her also GIVING THEM CRYPTIC WARNINGS
Now let's all read the story of a superhero team that never actually forms, time cuckery, 9-11/2, a plan to turn drug addicts into suicide bombers and time ghosts.
but anyway so call of duty was 3 mini series all interconnected, basically it's actually of a weird kind of crossover series.....and you need to read all 3 to get the FULL STORY....yea.
and that is kind of the basic idea here, with cops and firefighters at the time being look upon as heroes in the aftermath the idea was TO make a comic about real life heroes in the Marvel universe. This didn't go well because I'm now talking about it.
Now one trend from this era that started earlier was looking at OTHER people in superhero worlds, various comics already did this but Powers Made it a popular and critically acclaimed format and stuff like Gotham central came from that basic idea.
