Tales to Astonish (Dec.-1966) #86
The Sub-Mariner is caught up in "The Wrath of Warlord Krang!" Script Stan Lee, Penciler Jerry Grandenetti, Inker Bill Everett: The Krang plot is wearing thin; especially with the absence of Colan’s graceful pencils. 3/5
Black Magick #16
Rowan’s friends Alexandria and Nicky’s lives are endangered. Writer Greg Rucka, Artist Nicola Scott, Colorist Chiara Arena: The conclusion of the first-half of the second arc ends with a powerful life-changing event, and I’ll be patiently waiting for more. 5/5

Empyre (2020) #4
Earth’s invasion is only the start of our heroes problems. Writer Al Ewing, Artist Valerio Schiti, Colorist Marte Gracia: Lots of clever twists and turns, that doesn’t detract from the ample action or bigger character moments. 4/5
Captain America (2018) #21
Cap strikes back. Writer Ta-Nehisi Coates, Artist Bob Quinn, Colorist Matt Milla: Some powerful concepts, but the imagery doesn’t quite match up to the words. 3/5
Iron Man 2020 (2020) #5
Tony’s back and he’s on the attack! Writers Christos N. Gage & Dan Slott, Artist Pete Woods: Some extremely wild, high-tech concepts, even by IM standards, but done with a light enough touch and some pretty lovely art to pull it off. 4/5
Thor (Dec.-1966) #135
Thor must challenge “The Maddening Menace of the Super-Beast!" Script Stan Lee, Plot-Penciler Jack Kirby, Inker Vince Colletta: High Evolutionary and Thor fighting the Man-Beast and his evil Ani-Men drawn in sprawling splash-pages as only Kirby can! 4.5/5
Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: The Return of Effie Kolb #2
Hellboy is lead by a strange girl to a familiar old mansion. Writer Mike Mignola, Artist Zach Howard, Colorist Dave Stewart: Mignola’s return to “The Crooked Man” are predictably creepy; enhanced by Howard’s dark art. 4.5/5
The Cimmerian #3: People of the Black Circle
Conan and his allies make one last effort against the Black Seers to rescue their captive Princess Yasmina. Writer Robert E. Howard, Adapter Sylvain Runberg, Artist Jae Kwang Park, Colorist Hiroyuki Ooshima. A strong conclusion. 4.5/5
@Fcsnva @RanesHook @colebrax @TadeOKuuMushi @baker_johnnie @moosematson @scoobyhistory @QuasarSniffer @MarsPlastic @millsbw If Ken Spears, along with his creative partner Joe Ruby (who also sadly passed away just this past August) were only know as the creators of of “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!,” that would be an amazing legacy in animation, but they accomplished so much more.
