Hulk is not hailed as a hero for long in “Boomerang and the Brute!" Script Stan Lee, Penciler-Inker Gil Kane: Almost got whiplash from how quickly Lee reverts to Hulk’s status quo, but I see glimpses of classic-looking Kane art in this issue. 3/5

The New Mutants strike at the heart of DOX. Writer Ed Brisson, Artist Marco Failla, Colorist Carlos Lopez: Brisson takes an old X-Book trope and turns it into a powerful indictment against blind hatred and how it hurts both sides. 5/5

Wolverine (2020) #4
Wolverine seeks sanctuary in the Red Tavern... it doesn’t last. Writer Benjamin Percy, Artist Viktor Bogdanovic, Colorist Matthew Wilson: Percy has Logan’s inner voice down, but this visual 90’s homage isn’t my thing. 3.5/5
Spider-Woman (2020) #3
It’s all Jessica can do to keep her client alive from his enemies. Writer Karla Pacheco, Artist Pere Perez, Colorist Frank D’Armata: Pacheco adds another colorful layer to Jessica’s backstory, while giving Perez lots of amazing-looking action to draw. 4.5/5
The Avengers (2018) #35
It’s up to the remaining Avengers to stop Khonshu’s army of mummies and moon priests. Writer Jason Aaron, Artist Javier Garron, Jason Keith: There are some genuinely fun and exciting moments in this arc, but I don’t find overall story compelling. 3/5
Thor (2020) #6
King Thor faces Galactus, the Black Winter and his final fate. Writer Donny Cates, Artist Nic Klein, Colorist Matt Wilson: I loved all the big revelations and future consequences, but the final reveal left me somewhat perplexed. 4/5
