Marauders (2019) #5
Trouble’s brewing in Madripoor. Writer Gerry Duggan, Artists Matteo Lolli and Lucas Werneck, Colorist Federico Blee. Duggan plays to his strengths - characterization and action - which suits the classically-styled artists Lolli-Werneck-Blee to a tee. 4/5
Thor #128 (1966-May)
Thor recovers in Asgard and Hercules faces “The Power of Pluto!" Script Stan Lee, Plot-Penciler Jack Kirby, Inker Vince Colletta. As much as I like him, Kirby devotes a few too many pages to Hercules, before Thor joins the fray in this battle-filled ish. 4/5
Hawkeye: Freefall (2020) #1
A new Ronin is wreaking havok and Clint aims to stop him. Writer Matthew Rosenberg, Artist Otto Schmidt. A fast-paced, fun start to this new series, with some nice cameos by a few former Avengers. 4/5

Tony Stark: Iron Man (2018) #19
Iron Man faces Ultron. Writers Christos N. Gage and Dan Slott, Artist Francesco Manna, Colorist Francesco Delgado. I liked how Ultron was dispatched, but not the unusually downbeat (for Slott) conclusion to his run. I dislike the new armor too. 3/5
The Amazing Spider-Man (2018) #36
Spider-Man tries on last time to save New York City from Doom. Writer Nick Spencer, Artist Oscar Bazaldua, Steve Firchow. I love when Spider-Man faces an overpowering villain and Spencer-Bazaldua execute this classic devise well. 4/5
Invaders (2019) #12
The Invaders - united in victory. Writer Chip Zdarsky, Artists Carlos Magno & Butch Guice, Colorist Alex Guimarães. While Zdarsky gets to the heart of these heroes, Magno and Guice let loose with stunning splash pages in this fitting finale. 5/5
Daredevil (2019) #15
Fisk is out and Murdock is back. Writer Chip Zdarsky, Artists Marco Checchetto & Francesco Mobili and Colorists Nolan Woodard & Rachelle Rosenberg. The natural way in which the parallel stories of Fisk and Murdock flow is almost poetic. 4.5/5
X-Force (2019) #3
The Mutants’ response to Xavier’s assassination is X-Force. Writer Benjamin Percy, Artist Joshua Cassara, Colorist Guru-eFX. Several exciting revelations and intriguing future plot-lines are revealed. Cassara’s roughhewn style really suites this book. 4.5/5
Captain Marvel (2019) #13
Carol takes out number two on her list: Tony Stark! Writer Kelly Thompson, Artist Lee Garbett, Colorist Tamra Bonvillain. A nice reveal for Carol’s treachery and her ingenuity proves Thompson’s understanding of Carol. Some very powerful visuals too. 4/5
