Read this one. 5/5

Invaders (2019)
Namor’s war on the surface world begins. Writer. Chip Zdarsky unveils some neat plot twists and really ramps up the action. I’m still a bit put off by the contrasting styles of artists Butch Guice and Carlos Magno on their respective timelines. 4/5

Domino: Hotshots (2019)
Hotshots must save themselves before saving the world. Writer Gail Simone’s knack for the funny, doesn’t detract from her ability to twist a knife in your guts. The art-team: David Baldeón, Michael Shelfer and Jim Charalampidis deliver the goods! 4.5/5

The Amazing Spider-Man (2018)
The Lizard stops at nothing to save his son. Nick Spencer writes a nice straight-forward family drama featuring a father-scientist, that just happens to turn into a man-eating lizard. Artist Chris Bachalo and colorist Erick Arciniega. 3/5

When you reviewed “Trees: Three Fates” Gerry, it sounded as if you didn’t know that it was a follow up to Warren Ellis and Jason Howard’s “Trees” series that ran for 14 issues. “Trees: Three Fates” doesn’t seem like a direct sequel, but it’s definitely in the same world.

Captain Marvel (2019)
Nuclear Man forces a fight between Rogue stole Carol. Writer Kelly Thompson plays it a little too straight in this current arc. I also find it difficult to differentiate characters in group scenes with artist Carmen Carnero’s feathery brush-inking. 3/5

Criminal
Jane’s feeling of dread, leads her to follow Teeg’s son, Ricky. Writer Ed Brubaker’s POV chapter on Jane really illuminates the character’s inner turmoil and motivations. Artist Sean Phillips and color artist Jacob Phillips’ art has a looser, airy feel to it. 4.5/5

Space Bandits
Cody and Thena continue to quench their thirst for revenge. Writer Mark Millar indulges all his favorite tropes, but still makes them chaotically entertaining. It doesn’t hurt that artist Matteo Scalera and colorist Marcelo Maiolo make the ugly so lovely. 4/5

Captain America (2018)
Cap fights behind bars; his friends fight to get him out. Writer Ta-Nehisi Coates is constructing an intriguing and complex narrative that really examines who and what Captain America the symbol is. Artist Adam Kubert and color artist Frank Martin. 3.5/5

Immortal Hulk (2018)
The trail of a killer is cold. Writer Al Ewing, penciler Joe Bennett, inker Ruy José and colorist Paul Mounts have reached a creative pinnacle, that they somehow continue to surmount. 5/5
