Peggy Angus 1904-1993 b. Chile but grew up in Muswell Hill, painter, designer & influential teacher, best known for her industrial designs, tiles & wallpaper (do check them out). Her cottage near Beddingham attracted a circle of artists including Eric Ravilious & John Piper.

Hans Baluschek 1870-1935: German painter, illustrator & writer. His frank & direct portrayal of working class life in Berlin was seen as provocative by some & his left leaning politics later saw him labelled as #degenerate by the Nazis & banned from exhibiting. #SocialRealism
