For the physical media types reading this; the UK StudioCanal blu ray has an excellent transfer which really brings out the best of the 1972 London exteriors and limited interiors. Nice amount of visible fine grain. I watched this projected at 2.20 meters across and looked great.

I’m getting ‘Hammered’ all night this week. Tonight’s late night Hammer film is “Kiss of the Vampire.”

I didn’t know that blu rays of “Near Dark” were out of print and that it’s no longer available to stream anywhere. However, the recent German blu ray mediabook & standard German release look very nice. And as I’ve said before, on German releases you can remove the ratings idents.
