New book - Junji Ito “Twisted Visions.”

A large (but slim) reprinting many of Ito’s cover art from his horror books along with various panel extracted and blown up to full page size. A nice collection but not exactly essential if you already own a few of his horror manga comics.

If anyone is interested I paid homage to Smith’s coastal crustacean horrors in the extra features of my own coastal science fiction horror book “Surface Tension.”

Let’s take a moment to revisit some of those beautiful lurid eye catching covers to his ‘Crabs’ books.

Posters galore!

When posters were posters. What thrills they promised their audiences! Before the contractually obligated photoshop head shot of actors began to dominate posters.

And check out this reveal by fellow Moebius fan and Uber comic artist, Chris Weston. This was created by him painting and interpreting an original Moebius sketch that he owns.

Love it. Worlds to dream about.

Sorry for the light bouncing off of the ink in these photographs. Perhaps this is my favourite massive Moebius painting/print. It would look beautiful framed, I need to work harder and earn more money.

No one creates abstract worlds like Moebius (as well as realistic gritty worlds in his Blueberry work). I wish that I could visit Desert B and go there for a holiday. But this can only be achieved in dreams.

What a talented and prolific artist he was, hopping between an exhaustive amount of illustration work to painting and sculpture.

Guess not having social media or the inter-webs helped his focus. ;)
