More CSS! Episode 26 falls into the capable hands of Kazunori Mizuno [水野和則], whose slow-burning Direction is well suited for the newly established veil of mystery surrounding Mizuki, while Jun'ichi Sakata's [坂田純一] Storyboard carries the fun setpieces in the maze!
As so the DAC's group watch for Escaflowne's TV run reaches its end.
Kazuki Akane (赤根和樹), his team, Sunrise Studio 2, & every guest animator end this fantasy epic on an emotional rollercoaster that ties together the show's themes of rejecting predetermined fate.
Bravo! 👏
The tussle on the airship is dynamite stuff, we have a tense uneven fight, with precarious footing, and all while theres precious cargo on board.
We even get to see the graceful agility of these mechs!

You'd think the first half of the episode would be slow going, but this is Kazuki Akane we're talking about.
so he finds a way to segway us into the titular visions and unbeknownst to first-time viewers, an early showcase of Hitomi's power.
It can be easy to poke fun at Nobuteru Yuki's [結城信輝] overly sharp noses, but all things considered, i really dig his designs here.
His well-defined features make the profiles pop, and the cast certainly isn't lacking appeal!
Key Animation (原画): ???
This might be one of my favorite scenes, simply because i adore this take on Purin! That 2nd cut of her getting up, is SO CUUUUTE~!!!
i feel like a broken record, but this episode is literal layout porn.
