Warder Hervest Mul stays away from hot button issues in favor of making money.

I have theories about this frickin' staff! Usually, it's silent for decades, but the mages have come to accept this strange arrangement & trust the Horned Staff's wisdom.

There's no overt suggestion of a connection in the book, but I'll post this side-by-side art comparison:

No two ghosts are the same. Looks, behavior, & abilities all vary. 6 main "paths" exist:

It's common knowledge that the dead linger in Manifest, so agreements are often made to meet there if a person dies.

Ex. A woman hides a treasure, telling friends on her deathbed that she'll reveal its location to the first person to find her ghost. LET THE ADVENTURE BEGIN!

Mara & 5 shadows attack if PCs refuse to make a bargain with the Entity. Theodora Halvhrest's Mark of the Raven (from lockbox in [22]) can be used to stop Mara from attacking & makes the shadows roll at disadvantage.

If they overcome this, they can escape the HOUSE OF LAMENT!

We also have tips on making horror monsters truly FRIGHTENING:
- make it as unique as PCs (a yuan-ti can be an individual, rather than a race)
- have its reputation precede it (tales tell of a skeletal fiend who whistles during brutal acts; survivors can't forget these earworms)

"Haunted traps" are similar to haunts in Pathfinder--hazards to add flavor. Each is preceded by an "emanation", such as a drop in temperature.

Examples:
- morbid & horrific memories manifest
- mirror removes your face for 1 minute
- Pazuzu idol that possesses w/ fiendish spirit

There are suggestions for creating & using dramatic curses brought on by the choices PCs make. Examples include:
- disturbing a sealed tomb unleashes a relentless pursuer
- breaking a vow prevents restful sleep
- a slain innocent denounces you as a beast w/ their dying breath

The monotone detective agency of Flimira "Flintlock" Vhage investigates mysteries across the Domains of Dread, but Vhage never tells the hired help that she's somehow involved in every case, let alone that the entire agency exists only in her head.

Questing knights of the Circle search the forested Shadowlands for evil to vanquish. Villains from their past always return to vex them--the necromancer Morgoroth, the fallen paladin Elena Faith-hold, & Ebonbane--the evil blade of their own founder, Kateri Shadowborn.
