Marc Laming drew this issue, including this amazing Scarlet Witch splash at the end.
This is also a good reminder that Robinson wrote a fantastic 15-issue Scarlet Witch series with rotating artists.
Susan Richards can beat the entirety of The Avengers by herself. It is now canon. Bow down before the Queen.
Also, this Jim Hammond spread is one of the greatest things ever ever.
Hell of a cliffhanger, as the depressing destruction of the Fantastic Four continues.
At this point, you're engaged as hell in the story, but you wish someone would tell a damn joke for a second.
Remember Original Sin? And Axis?
Marvel was really cranking out some filler "events" in the lead up to Secret Wars.
More great stuff. Sue, as always, the best.
When Robinson was promoting the book, he was asked "hasn't this been done" and he said "yeah, but now it's my turn to do it my way." And I think it suffers from feeling familiar, but you have to appreciate how well crafted it really is.
Nefaria turned up in Amazing Spider-Man recently, in a weakened state, and I couldn't remember how he got that way. It may have been here, but he pops up all the time, so who knows for sure.
Still, always fun to see how easy it is for Doom to defeat other villains.
I can't remember if this is a reference to another series or story that actually happened around this time. Maybe A+X?
Either way, love the Two-in-One callback.
I always love these moments of quiet intimacy between Reed and Sue.
Also, as a scientist, Reed should know the sugar won't keep the kids up all night. Sugar making kids "hyper" is part placebo effect and part observer bias. The caffeine in chocolate may have some effect though.
God how good is Leonard Kirk? Why don't people talk about this more?
