Eratosthenes was a Greek polymath & chief librarian of the Library of Alexandria. He was the first person who calculated the circumference of the Earth. In addition, he believed that on this day, 24th of April, in 1183 BC the city of Troy fell and the legendary war ended.

In Greek Mythology Tyche (Greek for luck) was the goddess and the symbol of luck. Her Roman name was Fortuna. She was the daughter of Zeus & Themis. Zeus wanted her constantly with him. She ruled the wheel of fortune. She is more well known as “The Lady LucK”.🍀 #TuesdayThoughts

Odyssey nº 48:

Finally Odysseus with Penelope retire to bed and he tells her about his adventures. The next day Odysseus goes to his father’s farm who the grief aged him prematurely. Odysseus told him that he knew his son but when the old man started crying he revealed himself.

Odyssey episode 46:

Odysseus tears his beggar rags, fires an arrow to Antinous’ throat and another arrow to Eurymachus’ chest. The suitors find the hidden weapons and a battle begins. Odysseus and Telemachus with the help of Athena slaughter the suitors one by one.⚔️

Odyssey episode 44:

Penelope set out Odyssey’s bow and announced that the man who can shoot an arrow through the 12 axes will married her. The suitors tried but they couldn’t even string the bow. Odysseus revealed himself to his loyal shepherds and asked them to lock the doors.

Odyssey episode 42:

The faithful maid threw her arms around Odysseus but immediately sweared her to silence and she promised to keep his secret. After the bath, Penelope told him about her plan. She would organize an archery contest for the next day to choose a new husband.

Odyssey episode 39:

The suitors insulted the disguised Odysseus and Antinous threw him a stool. The rude beggar,named Arnaeus, insulted also Odysseus and Antinous decided to put them to fight so the suitors could enjoy. The fight ended quickly as Odysseus floored Arnaeus.

Odyssey episode 37:

Odysseus found his old dog Argos infected with lice and very tired. Argos recognised his master and he had just the strength to drop his ears and wagged his tail but he could not get up. Odysseus dashed a tear and as soon he entered the palace Argos died. 🐕

Deianira became jealous of Hercules so she decided to use the centaur’s blood on him. The blood wasn’t a love potion. On the contrary, it was poisonous with Hydra’s blood. The hero was in so much agony that he threw himself on fire and died. He rised to Olympus as a god.🔥2/2

Odysseus met the loyal Eumaneus and he was pleased with his hospitality. When Telemachus arrived in Ithaca he saw Eumaneus with the stranger. Telemachus offered to help him and he invited him to the palace. There Odysseus revealed his identity to his son.
