Odyssey episode 28:
Odysseus followed Circe’s instructions and went to the land of Cimmerians, digging a trench and pouring libations of milk,honey,wine,water & made sacrifices. The first ghost to appear was Elpenor who died in an accident the previus day. He begged for a burial
The afterlife in Greek Mythology had 3 different regions:
1. The Asphodel Meadows that the majority of the souls would end up into a dark & gloomy place.😕
2. Elysian fields that the heroic & righteous will live happily.😇
3. Tartarus that was a deep abyss for divine tortures.😈
At age 18, Hercules was already a famous hero in Greece. King Thespius who had 50 daughters, assigned to the hero to kill a lion that was plaguing the area. Hercules killed the lion but he also slept with his 50 daughters in one night and each one gave birth one son!
Odyssey episode 21:
As soon as Polyphemus passes out Odysseus and his men use the burning stake to gouge out the Cyclopes’ eye. The Cyclops screams with pain & agony and when his neighbors arrive outside and ask him who harmed him he replied “Nobody” so they walked away. 👁🩸
When the brothers of Antigone kill each other the king in order to punish one of them ordered not to bury him. Antigone did not obey and the king condemned her to death. Antigone remains a symbol of the strength of the women in the face of male authority. #InternationalWomensDay
Trojan War Episode 28:
King Priam opens the gates of Troy to his fleeing troops. Achilles pursues them, but Apollo disguised as Agenor allows the Trojans a safe retreat to the city. Hector stands as the only Trojan left outside the walls ignoring his parents pleas to enter in.
Trojan War Episode 27:
The River-God Scamander, sympathetic to the Trojans, calls Apollo for help but Achilles attacks the river. The river attacks back Achilles with all his waves 🌊 but the gods intervene. The fire of Hephaestus boils the river until he relents. 🔥
